climate hub catalyst internship

The Climate Hub Catalyst Internship Program is a graduate internship initiative offered through the University of Toronto Climate Hub in partnership with the President’s Advisory Committee on the Environment, Climate Change and Sustainability (CECCS).

Designed for a small, interdisciplinary cohort of U of T graduate students, the program supports paid, community-engaged research focused on advancing climate action across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Interns work closely with a faculty supervisor and a community partner to contribute to applied climate projects that bridge academic research and real-world impact.

During the Winter term, students complete part-time internships while progressing through the program as a cohort. In addition to project work, participants receive structured training, career development support, and project management guidance from the Climate Hub and CECCS.

The Catalyst Internship Program is grounded in collaboration, equity, and community engagement. By connecting graduate research with local climate initiatives, the program strengthens partnerships and supports emerging leaders working at the intersection of scholarship and action.
